Paris Hilton's & Oprah, HELP!!!

I found a new blog. I like it. You should know about it.

And I also heard about Paris Hilton's big feet. She and I have the same shoe size--an 11. So, my question is this: why would she waste her time putting out another mediocre / "let me co-op another culture's style & sound" album instead of putting out a line of CUTE shoes for large footed women!?!?! Oprah wears a 10, and I haven't seen her hooking sisters up with a pump or a slip-on either. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

I've added a few new things to the blog:

I spent yesterday designing my new Myspace page. (I know! I know!) I'm thinking it'll be a new addition to my online empire. I'm still tweaking it and hope to post the link this week (no peeking).

Also, I have to realign my priorities and goals for the rest of '06 and upcoming '07.
All I wanna do is make time to write.
I think I'm making it harder than what it needs to be.

*disgruntled sigh*

creepin' me out, man

Yo, John Mark Karr scares me. He creeps me out. In past instances when mass murders, rapists, terrorists have been paraded in front of the media they always look disheveled and bewildered. Karr is chilling. He's riding business class, had time to press his khakis and polo shirt, hair styled just so--doesn't it almost seem as if he's excited by the attention??

What I like & what I don't like

Things have been slow at the j-o-b which is actually code for: I've been hiding in an office for the past three days and occasionally poke my head out to show my face to bossman.

Lots to talk about today so I'll dive in:

I found this slate article about Bob Dylan's love for Black women. I never heard about this but after reading the article it makes complete sense. The thing that shocks me is Mavis Staples' quote about why she didn't marry Bobby. The creative gears are clickin folks. I'm feeling a new piece coming. My question is: why the hell did he choose Alicia Keys? She is a singer/performer that I DO NOT like. I'm baffled. Why not: erykah? missy elliot? jill scott? india arie? There are better choices out there Bobby. . .

Benji Schwimmer is America's favorite dancer! I thought it was so cute when he started crying after Cat announced his name. Donyelle couldn't even get in to hug the man after he won. Is that any way to treat your secret lover, Benji?? NYC Tickets for the SYTYCD tour are sold out so I may have to go to the show in DC (and yes it is that serious, people).

Beyonce has a new video out.
I hate to admit it, but I think I'm starting to like her. UGH. I like Deja Vu and I like this song, too.

I like this theater company called Collaboration Town. They just got a good review for their Fringe piece The Deepest Play Ever. I often get a serious gushy feeling for one of its members.

Highlights of my weekend trip to DC:

*Played this game on a very large flat screen. I became a total frat boy: beer, boxer shorts, farting, and muttering of the words "bro" and "hells yea."

*Went to this art gallery. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page you'll notice quote land has been updated. I saw it written on the wall above a Christenberry exhibit. In it's own way, it rebuts the previous post. I'm still searching for more evidence/arguments.

*Spent QT with good people.

Heavy Rotation has been updated. Country music is infiltrating my ipod. Attempts to resist it are futile . . .

moleskines & the end of civilization

Last year I got hooked on this notebook. It's a silly and superficial investment but I'm addicted nonetheless. I've been on the hunt for more economical solution but haven't been able to find an adequate replacement. I'll look at less expensive sketchbooks or regular notepads but end up getting a moleskine. I've considered going completely electronic and entering all thoughts/rants/diatribes into the PDA but I like writing by hand. I like having a notebook.

But what to do with them once I've filled the notebook from cover to cover? There's a growing community of 3.5x5.5 books stacked on my bookcase. I can't throw them out but I can't lug them around when/if I move. I'm approaching the final pages of my current journal and not sure what's next. I have yet to buy a fresh supply.

Last night I fell asleep while writing and woke up to the airline situation in the UK, war in Israel, civil war in Iraq, and 100+ degree temps across the country.

Everywhere you look there's death, danger, fear, and terror.

And I'm fearing the end of a 3.5x5.5 moleskine notebook.

In the face of such world events I'm tempted to believe that my work is completely self-indulgent and pointless. I'm wrestling with a final draft, starting a new play, and toying with the idea of a novel but for what?
